Malware Again...

 It's happened again
This is a warning to all SSP.com and possibly RedArmageddon.com users, while trying to view the forums on either site after login, Avast declares an Iframe Trojan. It detects as follows:
5/26/2009 9:09:40 PM SYSTEM 1444 Sign of "HTML:IFrame-EJ [Trj]" has been found in "http://www.starsiegeplayers.com/modules.php?name=Forums" file.
If you are using firefox with no script you may notice a about:blocked segment, a site with a .kmz or .info registry TLD, none of these are affilated with Starsiege Players.com and you should avoid going there. Recommend all users run virus and malware scans, and I've dispatched the alert to Butterbean, again. Not sure why this happened so soon, and I know I am not the only one frustrated, but we shall get her fixed.

Site Cleaned/Restored

Yeah, yeah the witch is dead!
Well, we had a bit of a scare there didn't we. Suffice it to say we believe it was some bad code or backup from our host that resulted in some of the malware that was infecting the forums.
A great thank you to the site Owner, Butterbean for stepping in and restoring us back to working shape. Also thank you to those who helped spread the word why I tried to track him down, and those who have helped in other ways.
So without further adieu the forums are opened again, please spread the word.

For now, to safe guard folks coming, I've deactivated the forums, if anyone should need to contact me information enclosed.

Starsiege isn't dead yet

Death Strike asked me to post the following:
*Blows dust off site*
Guess not much happened here since the death of SS2845. At least Starsiege isn't dead. Yup, that's right, after 10 years Starsiege is still alive, though, not surprisingly, there aren't many players left.
After everything the comunity and the game has been though, Starsiege still caries on. But only thanks to the few devoted fans who kept the game alive, Mercyfulfate who hosted a master for several months and Eye who is hosting the master server now.
We at SSP and the remaining players of Starsiege want to ask every remaining fan who has stopped playing to come back and help keep Starsiege alive for more years to come. The current Master Needed to play Starsiege

NCAA Tournament Time!

Well it is that time of the year again, that's right its "March Madness". I was thinking that it would be neat to see who in the SSP.com community can pick em best. I've setup a NCAA Bracket Group on ESPN's site to this end. (Note: Registration and login is required to play.)
If interested go Here fill out your bracket and lets see who wins ;)
Not sure if you can see others final four on there or not.
Going to be a good year for 2 1 seeds to make it I think. May the best StarsiegePlayer win.

old: Sunandshadow.com Live

After an extended dark period over at Sunandshadows.com it appears that with only 2 days remaining until the domain was to be set to pending delete status and returned to the pool that the excessive price was paid to bring the domain back from redemption status. This was done just in time, had the domain been deleted it could have been very costly to acquire the domain from its new owners.

Staff writes "Not sure what the story is now but as some of you might have guessed the S&S domain is no longer active and remains in redemption status for renewal. It was only back on June 23rd that the DNS servers were updated and the domain locked but it now appears the domain has expired. I am sure some one will step forward to give the community an update on the situation."
